Vegeta is a major antagonist-turned-deuteragonist of the Dragon Ball franchise.

He is voiced by Ryo Horikawa in the Japanese version of the anime and by Brian Drummond in the Ocean Dub and Christopher R. Sabat in the Funimation dub.

Why Is He In The Likability Scaling Purgatory?[]

  • For a start, as admirable he is, Vegeta cannot qualify as a Love Exalted character due to his heinousness as a villain, and even without them, he is far too serious to count.
    • Even Piccolo pointed out in-universe him not fitting as such, as he said that Vegeta would go to hell after his death for all the lives he took during the part when he decided to sacrifice himself to defeat Majin Buu.
  • He is FAR from a Hate Sink, already possessing an "Evil is Cool" presence in his first appearances, and later on, as his character arc stretched out, he would become a far more three-dimensional figure.
  • He is not particularly a Magnificent Baddie either, due to being somewhat too cocky to fit.
  • And lastly, he cannot qualify as Entertainingly Detestable simply because he is too admirable and his worst crimes are extremely standard and shared by all of Frieza's henchmen, who are pretty much all required to murder planets for profit. In fact, you could even say some of them are far more dislikable than him, with Dodoria, the Ginyu Force, and even Raditz (who is shown to be less heinous than Vegeta) as shining examples.

Trivia[]

  • While Vegeta is currently a LSP entry, if the series ended during the Saiyan Arc, he would have qualified as an Entertainingly Detestable due to being vile enough to fit as such and still retaining the character's "Evil is Cool" factor.
